Brian Fabrizzi of Monroe Township, NJ passed away on Monday May 15, 2023, at the University Medical Center of Princeton at Plainsboro. He was 78 years old. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend.

Brian was born in the Greenwich Village neighborhood of New York City to Bruno and Anne Fabrizzi. He was the younger brother of Carole. Not soon after, the family moved to Jamaica, Queens.

Brian spent his elementary school year weekends hand rolling tortellini pasta with his Nonna Virginia and bottling the handmade wine in his basement with his Nonno Marco. He would complete these chores as quickly as possible so that he could spend the majority of his days on the baseball field.

Brian was a US Army Reserves veteran, having served his duty from 1964-1971. Brian was awarded for his expertise in the M-14 Rifle. He worked on Wall Street for 40 years, most recently working as a stock loan broker, NYC.

If there was one thing Brian loved more in life than beagles, it was baseball. His team in Jamaica was run by Joe Austin - who continued to meet with the boys he taught ball to for decades to come.

As a teenager, Brian fell in love with music. Some of his favorites were Buddy Holly, Big Bopper, Dion, Chuck Berry, and Elvis. He attended Archbishop Malloy High School in Briarwood, NY from 1961-1964. He went on to Pace University in Manhattan, where he majored in Business, but more importantly, played college baseball.

While attending classes, and still living in Queens, Brian started his career on Wall Street and worked his way through and up to become a Stock Loan Broker. He did this for the entirety of his career and had a most colorful of life thanks to his time there.

Brian met the love of his life, Joan, in 1970 through a mutual friend. They were married in 1971, and had a son, Greg, and a daughter, Debra-Lynn. They raised them both in Staten Island, New York until 1986, when they decided to move to Holmdel, NJ for a more suburban family life.

Finally, after many years as empty nesters, Brian and Joan moved to a retirement community in Monroe Township, NJ.

In his final years, he enjoyed his life as a grandfather to 5 grandchildren. Some of Brian's favorite pastimes over the years has been watching his grandchildren play sports (hockey, baseball, cheerleading, lacrosse, soccer), watching the Mets lose, preparing meals for his loved ones, and telling and re-telling stories about his childhood.

He kept his love of food, humor, and music with him up until his final days, often blasting Frank Sinatra for hours much to his loving wife's chagrin.

Brian was a loving and faithful husband, a supportive and easy-to-talk-to father, an excellent provider, nonjudgmental man who was never afraid to speak his truth.

Brian was predeceased by his parents, Anne (Cugini) and Bruno Fabrizzi.

Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Joan Fabrizzi (née Davis); his son, Gregory (Kimberly) of Old Bridge, their children, Luke (21), Nicholas (18), and Isabella (15); his daughter, Debra-Lynn (Matt Barclay) of Washington State, their children, Fiona (11) and Ethan (10), and his sister, Carole and her husband, Francis, of New York.

A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, May 20, 2023, from 12:00 - 3:00 pm at THE BRUNSWICK MEMORIAL HOME, 454 Cranbury Road, East Brunswick, where a memorial service will be said at 1:30 pm. For directions, please visit our "Services" page.

Dear Joan, Debra-Lynn, Gregory and your families. My sincere sympathies on the passing of Brian. Cherish your memories which will carry you through the difficult times. Brian is now at peace and no longer suffering. I am sure he is up in heaven talking with Dominick about the Mets.
