Obituary

HELMETTA - EUGENE A. BOTTIGLIERI passed away on Thursday, March 16, 2023, at his residence. He was 84 years old.

Eugene was born in Staten Island, NY, to William and Carmina (née Perrella) Bottiglieri. He moved to East Brunswick in 1968 where he raised his family before moving to Helmetta in 2002.

Prior to retiring in 1993, he was a Xerox technician. He took great pride in being a part of the East Brunswick Special Police, where he served for 42 years and rose to the rank of Lieutenant.

He was a veteran of the United States Air Force.

Gene strongly supported community service. He was a parishioner of St. Bartholomew R.C. Church in East Brunswick and spent many years ushering the Saturday evening masses. He was also a third-degree member of the Knights of Columbus council #11873 and was actively involved in the early years of the annual Camp Daisy Breakfast.

Gene enjoyed spending the winters with his wife, Carol, at his second home in Davenport, FL. They also enjoyed vacationing, particularly cruising; having sailed on over 30 cruises.

Gene leaves his loving wife of 59 years, Carol (nee Territo) Bottiglieri. He is survived by his son, Frank and his wife, Susan, of Milltown; his daughter, Robin Ellmyer of Piscataway; his brothers, William and his wife, Jean, of Brick, Gerald of Milltown and his sister, Joanne Stair of Bonita Springs, FL. Gene is also survived by his 5 grandchildren - Kenneth and Michael Ellmyer of Piscataway and Jenna, Daniel and Christopher Bottiglieri of Milltown.

Family and friends may visit on Tuesday, March 21, 2023, from 3:00 to 7:00 pm, at The BRUNSWICK MEMORIAL HOME, 454 Cranbury Road, East Brunswick.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 22nd, at 10:15 am at the funeral home, with a 11:00 am Mass of Christian Burial at St. Bartholomew R.C. Church of East Brunswick, followed by entombment at Holy Cross Burial Park of South Brunswick. For directions, please visit our "Services" page.
