LAWRENCEVILLE - GLADYS M. SCHWINDINGER WILSON passed away on Saturday, March 11, 2023, at The Terraces at Lawrence Assisted Living Facility. She was 95 years old.

Born in Elizabeth, to Joseph and Marie (née Hemmer) Genschel, Gladys grew up in Elizabeth and moved to East Brunswick with her first husband, Robert A. Schwindinger. She lived in East Brunswick for 60 years. Gladys then settled in Lawrenceville at The Terraces 4 years ago.

Gladys was very active in her church. She was a parishioner of Corpus Christi R.C. Church in South River and was a member of their Rosary Society and Seniors Club. Gladys was also instrumental in raising funds for the school; she worked the weekly bingo for years, allowing people to have fun while giving back to their community.

She was also a member of the East Brunswick Bowling League, the East Brunswick Senior Center, as well as the St. Thomas Senior Center.

She was predeceased by her first husband, Robert A. Schwindinger, in 1976; her second husband, Robert L. Wilson, in 1996; her brother, Edwin Genschel, in 2002 and her stepdaughter, Mary Wilson, in 2013.

Surviving are her two daughters, Annemarie Jurski and her spouse, Keith, of Davenport, IA; Janet Dapprich and her spouse, Johannes, of Lawrenceville, and her stepchildren, Robert A. Wilson and his spouse, Gina, of East Brunswick, Nora Vele and her spouse, Joseph, of Long Beach Island, and Margaret McClaren and her spouse, William, of Monroe Township; fourteen grandchildren, Joseph III, Jessica, Karoline, Susanne, Evelin, Joseph, Jayme, Kaitlyn, Megan, Heather, Mercedes, Roberto, Jacob and Matthew, and three great-grandsons, Ian Joseph, Joseph and Luca.

Family and friends may visit on Thursday, March 16, 2023, from 3:00 to 7:00 pm, at The Brunswick Memorial Home, 454 Cranbury Road, East Brunswick.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, March 17th, at 9:00 AM, at Corpus Christi R.C. Church, South River. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick. For directions, please visit our "Services" page.
