EAST BRUNSWICK - MARGARET SCHWARTZER passed away on Saturday, January 14, 2023, at St. Peter's University Hospital in New Brunswick. She was 86 years old.

Born in Staten Island, NY, to Vincent Schmauder and Elizabeth (née Nicker), she resided in Staten Island before settling down in New Jersey in 1957.

She was a nurse at St. Peter's University Hospital in New Brunswick, where she worked for over 20 years.

In her leisure time, Margaret enjoy/loved spending time with her beloved Charles in Marathon Key, Florida.
She enjoyed hosting the family reunion for over 60 years.

Margaret was predeceased by her husband of 64 years, Charles Schwartzer, in 2019.

Surviving are her sons, Gary Schwartzer of Gilmanton, NH and Joseph and his wife, Rachel Carhart-Schwartzer, of Flemington; her daughter, Laurie Ann Carr of East Brunswick; her sister Lynne DiStefano of Staten Island, NY; her grandchildren, Liz and her husband John, Kaity, Benjamin, Brenden and Taylor and her fiancé Vincent and her great-grandchild, Vincent Jr.

Family and friends may visit on Saturday, January 21, 2023, from 12:00 to 3:00 pm, at The BRUNSWICK MEMORIAL HOME, 454 Cranbury Road, East Brunswick, where a service will be held at 2:30 pm. Cremation will be private. For directions, please visit our "Services" page
