SPOTSWOOD - FRANCES CAROLINE DOUGHERTY (neé WENZ) passed on Sunday July 31, 2022, after living a long and full life.

Frances was born on Brunswick Avenue in Spotswood on February 4, 1934 and proudly lived there all of her life. After Frances graduated from South River High School, she attended beauty school in Highland Park.

She met the love of her life, Robert Dougherty, when she was 13 years old and they married on July 26, 1952. Together they raised seven children and is survived by Sandra Conover of Clemmons, North Carolina, Kenneth and wife, Pat, of St. Petersburg, Florida, Kathleen Hryniewicz and husband, Joseph, of Pinellas Park, Florida, Thomas and wife, Karen, of Monroe Township, Colleen of Spotswood, and her son-in-law, John Beck of Monroe Township.

Frances dearly loved all 17 of her grandchildren and the 20 great-grandchildren she was blessed to have in her life.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Robert; her daughter, Terry Beck; her son, Robert C.; her son-in-law, David Conover, and her grandsons, Joseph Hryniewicz and John S. Beck.

Frances worked at the Spotswood Hardware store for over twenty years. She enjoyed her passion for ceramics by teaching and making friends with the numerous ladies that spent their evenings creating works of art. Her greatest joy was to be surrounded by her family and friends. She was always ready to put on a pot of coffee and pull out the tub of cookies for anyone who visited her in her beloved home.

Family and friends may visit on Friday, September 16, 2022, from 9:00-10:00 am, at The BRUNSWICK MEMORIAL HOME, 454 Cranbury Road, East Brunswick, where a memorial service, honoring the life of Frances, will be held at 10:00 am.
