MONTAGUE - WILLIAM T. KANE passed away on Thursday, July 28, 2022, at his home. He was 80 years old.
Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, to Harold and Margaret (née Kaag) Kane, he spent his weekends in McAfee, enjoying the ski slopes, ultimately retiring there. He moved to Montague 20 years ago where he happily settled into the log cabin of his dreams.
Prior to retiring, he was a tax auditor for the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance for over 30 years.
William enjoyed playing chess, he loved his home in Montague but nothing brought him more joy then being with his family.
Surviving are his daughter, Janet Bodnar and her husband, Frank, of East Brunswick; his brother, John Kane and his wife, Patricia, of Houston, TX; his sister, Ann Asem and her husband, John, of Aberdeen, MD; two grandsons, Justin and Kyle Bodnar, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, August 6, 2022, from 1:00 to 3:00 pm, at The BRUNSWICK MEMORIAL HOME, 454 Cranbury Road, East Brunswick. For directions, please visit our "Services" page.
