EAST BRUNSWICK-MARGARET WAINCZAK
Farewell to you, Margaret Wainczak (12/9/1928 - 6/14/2022): Margaret resided most of her life in South River, NJ. She worked in retail. Mom was a feisty 93-year-old woman who lived life fully and fought to the bitter end. Wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, she loved us all. Shopping was her pleasure and knitting was her passion, as we can tell by the hundreds of blankets she made over the years! Mom loved to go out to new places, enjoy great food, listen to music on her iPod and catch up with everyone on Facebook. She was always busy with her many hobbies and friends, and we lovingly called her the president of the social club at CareOne, which she called home during the last chapter of her life. She was a card shark, a fierce bingo competitor and the daily morning announcer of all the daily events. Mom loved to be in the "know".
Through many hardships and challenges, Mom had a tenacity that was admirable. She found pleasure in the simple things and had a zest for life. We were fortunate to have known and loved her for so many years. We thank all her caregivers at CareOne. She found another family there and although she was sometimes not the easiest of residents, she certainly had her fellow residents' interests at heart. Go Mom!!!
She will be deeply missed by us all.
P.S. I hope the food is good up there, otherwise look out!!!
Margaret was predeceased by her husband John F. Wainczak in 1983, her daughter Grace Fullington in 2009, her son Luke Wainczak in 2010, her son-in-law Michael Fullington in 2012, and son-in-law Glen Rigsby in 2013.
She is survived by her son John Wainczak of Spotswood, NJ, her daughter and son-in-law Arlene and Al DeLieto of Spotswood, NJ, her daughter-in-law Alida Wainczak of Jackson, NJ, her daughter and daughter-in-law Sharon Wainczak and Karen Ross of MA, her grandchildren Alan DeLieto of PA, Cheryll DeLieto of AZ, Luke Wainczak of Jackson, NJ, Jake Fullington and Eloise Fullington of CT, Yukon Wainczak and Cooper Wainczak of MA and by her great-grandchildren Nicholas, Xander and Abigail DeLieto.
Funeral services were handled privately under the direction of The Brunswick Memorial Funeral Home.
I was so saddened to hear of dear sweet Margaret passing!š¢. I met Margaret while my Mom was in Care One. From the moment we met while she was āmanagingā the front desk we quickly became friends and I would visit with Margaret a few times a week when I visited my Mom. We would chat about news, the inedible food, events at the facility and what she was working on with her knitting. She kept me updated on issues so that I could make sure my Mom was being treated ok. She checked on my Mom as well. She had a strong spirit and the biggest heart. She knitted blankets and hats as well as mask covers for the employees during Covid. I would buy her little gifts when I shopped for my Mom and you would have thought I gave her a million bucks. Her smile and conversations always made my Mom and I smile. I missed our visits during shutdowns with Covid but called her to make sure she was ok and to catch up with her. We were waiting for visits to be allowed again but I never got to hug her again. My Mom passed at the beginning of Covid and I was worried about Margaret and others getting sick. I made sure to send her little packages of goodies of yarn and snacks to make her smile and to help her thru those long days in lockdown. I will miss our visits and talking to you on the phone my sweet Margaret and hope you are happy reuniting with your love ones in Heaven. To your family who I have met a few, your Mom always spoke with love about you. My sincere condolences to Margaretās family and friends. Rest In Peace my sweet friend and you will be missed! ā¤ļøšš„². Nancy Zarro - Ruth Williams daughter
