Irene (Rene) Elizabeth Sindet Leeman passed away on June 7, 2022 at The Chelsea of Montville, New Jersey. She was born August 14, 1926 and was a true Leo, her zodiac sign.
Born in South Amboy, she resided in Fords, New Jersey. As an adult, she lived 30 years in NYC before moving to Monroe Township, NJ. She resided In Monroe Township for 36 years and spent her last two years closer to family in Montville, NJ.
Rene was the bookkeeper at the Bayside Yacht Club and the Cornell Club of New York and worked many years in the payroll department of RWJ Hospital, retiring at age 72.
Rene was a lover of The NY Times crossword puzzle (particularly Sunday), scrabble at the clubhouse, and card and board games with family. She traveled extensively and enjoyed accompanying her jazz drummer husband, Cliff, to jazz concerts and parties throughout the U.S. Rene was a sports fanatic when it came to tennis (Roger Federer) and a lifetime supporter of the NY Jets and Giants (win or mostly lose). She also enjoyed supporting her granddaughter's academic and athletic pursuits.
Rene was predeceased by her husband, Clifford Spencer Leeman, daughter Kathryn Ann Leeman and siblings Anna Sindet Bailey and Bud Sindet.
Surviving: her son Christopher Leeman of Newburgh, NY; her daughter Nancy Leeman and granddaughter Kathryn Donnelly of Cedar Grove, NJ.
Funeral services were handled privately under the direction of The BRUNSWICK MEMORIAL HOME, 454 Cranbury Rd., East Brunswick New Jersey.
A Memorial will be held by the family at a later date.
