EAST BRUNSWICK - PETER J. MOORE, passed away on Sunday, April 11, 2021, at home, at the age of 61.
Born in New Brunswick, at St. Peter's University Hospital, he was a lifelong resident of East Brunswick.
He was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Milltown.
Peter was a Principal Land Surveyor (PLS) with MFS Engineers and Surveyors in South Plainfield, and was a qualified land surveyor for New Jersey, Pennsylvania and New York. He loved his work. Peter worked for Kupper Associates for decades.
He was also an excellent woodworker and enjoyed nothing better than working on his own house, for which he was the architect, after having helped many with their own houses over the years. He also enjoyed traveling and discovering his wife's ancestral country of France with his family. Peter's passion was his daughters, Ginette and Charlotte. He was so very proud of both of them. He was their gentle giant.
Peter was predeceased by his parents, Robert and Ruth (Hacker) Moore.
Surviving are his loving wife, Nathalie, and cherished daughters, Ginette and Charlotte; his in-laws, Ginette and Jean-Pierre Oudin of France, and brothers-in-law Patrick and Pascal Caroline, Alexandre, William and Vanille; his brother, Mark and his wife, Lillian, and nephew, Ryan of North Brunswick, NJ, Tim of Jackson, NJ and his family, Nick, Susie, Hayley, Dehana, Sophie, Diane and John, as well as his long-life friend, Ken Berg of South River, NJ.
Nathalie would like to especially thank, for their ongoing support since Peter's diagnosis in May 2020, Dr. Irving Kaufman and his wife, Cathy-Lynn and Adrian Cancel, neighbors Dave and Kathy Agey, the Murabito family, and Jamie and Pete de Siena. Thank you to Peter's cousins, Dave and Sue Hacker, and Mary Hacker for their constant support.
She is also grateful for the support of the Liverpool Football Club and teams, and the Kaye-Lynn Dance Studio and parents for their support, 4-H Barnyard Kids Club and the St. Paul Church congregation, as well as family friends, and all the partners at MFS Engineer.

I was greatly saddened to learn of Pete’s passing. I lost touch with Pete once I retired but I had the privilege of working with him for more than 20 years. He was one of the best land surveyors I ever met. Further, he was passionate about about technology and was instrumental in implementing Kupper’s transition from manual drafting to CADD. He was constantly upgrading our surveying, drafting, mapping and GIS capabilities by way of new equipment, applications and methods. Aside from his technical skills, Pete was a terrific person and a pleasure to work with. Moreover, he spoke often of his family and it was obvious to everyone at work that he loved being a husband and father. I offer my sincerest condolences to his family.
I knew Pete when he worked for Middlesex County Engineering Department. Pete worked in the roads department and I worked for the Bridge department surveying group.. I remember Pete having a pick up truck with a lift kit installed. The pick up looked like a small monster truck going down the road. Pete also had a 1000cc motorcycle that he loved to ride. Pete gave me a ride back on his motorcycle from the beach/South Jersey when I had a flat tire on my motorcycle. This was one of the many kind things Pete was known for. I will always remember the good times we had! Our prayers go out to his family during these times.
I just learned of Pete's passing a few minutes ago. To say the least, it was a kick in the gut. I am so sorry to hear his life was taken by sickness. It has been a few years since I spoke to Pete. I worked with Pete for as long as he was with Kupper. Like me, he started out as a draftsman, and eventually, as the Company's Surveyor, he became my supervisor. In all that time, he was always a true gentleman. For me, he was a guy you could never get tired of working with. I learned a lot from him—both at work and in life. He was not afraid to pass on knowledge, and help me and others as well. It is because of Pete, I am where I am today. To Nathalie and Ginette and Charlotte, I am truly sorry for your loss. No words can make you feel better, but I can tell you to be proud of Pete. He was an all-around great guy! RIP Pete.
It is incredibly difficult to write this. Pete has been my closest friend for my entire life. Saying he will be missed is an understatement. He was the guy to go-to when I needed help, no matter the subject; carpentry, engineering, surveying, maintenance, life, whatever. Pete was always there to help and lend a hand.
We did just about everything together. In summary; HS school together, workin together, build stuff, fix stuff, ride motorcycles, concerts, toss frisbee, canoe, camp, go skiing all the time, fix houses, built houses/garages/sheds/shops, raised families, family events, baseball games, pool building, NYC Rockettes, go shooting at Range 14, Cabella's shopping for the day, go to Auctions in Penn (complete with Actioneer you can understand), for all sorts of fun stuff.
Fun times with Pete and his lovely girls I will never forget and miss doing! More detail to come, when I dry out. Rest in peace pal.
Peter was an amazing husband and father and fought a valiant battle against a relentless disease with courage and grace. He was supported every moment by his wife, children, family and friends. May his memory always be a blessing to you. We wish he would of been here much longer to see all the wonderful things that the girls will accomplish in their lives, but he will be watching over them as their guardian angel.
I've always thought of Peter as a quiet but very thoughtful, caring guy. He would do anything for you. He welcomed me into the Moore/Hacker clan over 40 years ago and we got along great. I was so happy for him when he met and married Nathalie and had his two beautiful girls. I wish we could have spent more time together but distance makes that very hard.
To all his family I send my sincerest condolences. He will be missed by many I am sure. All my love...Mary Hacker
