EAST BRUNSWICK - NANCY ANN HALUPKA, née Skarzynski, passed away on Wednesday, February 17, 2021, at her home, with the loving support of her family by her side. She was 69 years old.

Nancy was born in South Amboy. Her parents, Bernard and Helen Skarzynski, moved the family to East Brunswick in 1952. Nancy was a graduate of East Brunswick High School and attended Middlesex County College.

After school, she worked in retail and in food service. She worked for Exxon Chemical in the eighties, where she met her husband, Joe. As their sons got older, she went back to work. After 17 years, she retired from Premier Personnel Group.

Nancy was an enthusiastic sports fan and loved watching her sons play football. She was always involved with their activities as she coached little league, Odyssey of the Mind, volunteered in the classroom, and was active in PTA. Nancy was also the president of the football club for East Brunswick High School and Muhlenberg College. She and Joe also ran tailgates and cooked team meals for both levels. Nancy was very involved in the Middlesex County Snapple Bowl. She also loved to read, garden, bake, and cook.

She was predeceased by her father, Bernard, and mother, Helen.

Nancy loved animals, especially her yellow labs, but more than anything she loved her family.

Surviving are her husband of 34 years, Joseph J.; their two sons, Matthew of Jersey City, and Stephen and his wife, Michelle, of Ramsey; one granddaughter, Jayne, who was her Grandma's sweetie pie; five younger siblings, Joan Skarzynski, Louise Morrison and husband, Mark, Bernard Skarzynski Jr., Ellen Lawrence and her husband, Robert, and Joseph Skarzynski and his wife, Lisa; six nieces and one nephew. As the family grew, she gained two grand-nieces and six grand-nephews as well. Nancy had many wonderful friends, many since high school.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 25, 2021, at 9:15 am, at The BRUNSWICK MEMORIAL HOME, 454 Cranbury Road, East Brunswick, followed by a 10:00 am Mass of Christian Burial at St. Bartholomew R.C. Church, East Brunswick. Cremation will be private.

I am deeply saddened to hear of Nancy's passing Joe. I never met or worked with her in the chem plant but that doesn't mean that I can't give you support in this time of loss and need for you now. You were always a family man and very supportive of your family, friends, and co-workers. Please accept my condolences, my friend.

I knew Nancy during our years at East Brunswick High. I moved to Arizona after our Senior year but was able to see and speak with Nancy when I’d go back for our class reunions. I was fortunate at our 50th reunion in 2019 to spend some time visiting with her at the picnic on the day after our reunion. She was still the nice, kind, and funny person I knew so many years ago. My friends and I would go watch her play basketball and I’m sure you know we all called her “Stretch.” Nancy was a class act and though the years went by my thoughts of her never changed. My heartfelt condolences to all those who loved her and will miss her. She truly was a lovely lady.

Nancy was the greatest Receptionist & Assistant at Premier Personnel. She always announced every morning “Do not fear I am here”. She was such a fun, efficient & positive person to work with. She loved buying new outfits for work. She lives her family so much. She will be truly missed by all. My sincere sympathy to her family. Eva Larkin
