SOUTH RIVER - JANET M. SCOTT passed away on Sunday, December 1, 2019, at Saint Peter's University Hospital, New Brunswick. She was 93.
Born in New Brunswick, she's been a resident of South River since 1955.
Janet was a homemaker. She was also an avid outdoor enthusiast, volunteering with the Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts of America in excess of 45 years. A well-respected trainer of adult leaders, Janet received the highest volunteer award from the Boy Scouts of America, the Silver Beaver Award, in recognition of her many years of service to the organization.
She was predeceased by her husband, Fred Scott, in 2010.
Surviving are her two sons, Jerry Scott, and his wife Ann, of Spotswood, and Harry Scott of Spotswood; three grandchildren, Allison Long, and her husband, Joshua, Brian and Jack Scott, and two great-grandchildren, Mikayla and Mason.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 5, 2019 at 10:00 AM in The BRUNSWICK MEMORIAL HOME, 454 Cranbury Road, East Brunswick. Interment will follow at Franklin Memorial Park, North Brunswick.

I will not be able to attend the wake or services because I am traveling but I wanted to send my condolences to the family. I have fond memories of Fred and Janet from Scouting days. May she Rest In Peace.--John Krenzel
