An avid traveler, Mary Lou visited 15 countries on 4 continents including Europe, Africa, Asia and North America. While fighting her disease and overcoming the side effects of chemotherapy, she actively sought other cultural experiences finding them in Innsbruck, Salzburg, Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Barcelona, London and Avignon. One of her proudest moments was on a safari with her son, Daniel, in Uganda while he served two years in the Peace Corp.
Mary Lou was passionate for animal rights and donated monthly to the SPCA, Humane Society and PETA. She adopted her beloved pet Hanna, a mixed terrier breed, from a pet shelter in 2010.
