BRUCE HENRY WATT, 78, of MONROE TOWNSHIP, passed away on Saturday, August 10, 2019, at Care One of East Brunswick.
Mr. Watt was born in Christ Hospital in Jersey City, and grew up in Metuchen where he played football for Metuchen High School.
Following high school, he joined the US Army National Guard. He then attended and graduated from Alderson Broaddus College, where he was a member of the Lambda Omega Mu fraternity. He also served as a dorm counselor.
His employment after college included working for the Boy Scouts of America as a District Representative, a pharmaceutical representative for Johnson & Johnson and, some years later, went to work for Raritan River Steel (later known as Co-Steel Raritan) in Perth Amboy.
Bruce was a former member of Trinity Presbyterian Church, East Brunswick, and for the past four years, a member of the Rossmoor Community Church, Monroe Township.
His activities over the years included golf, being a member of the East Brunswick Republican Club and Committee, as well as being a member of the Masonic Lodge, Philo #243, South River, Order of the Eastern Star, Raritan Chapter #58, South River, and the Rossmoor Chorus of Monroe Township.
Mr. Watt was the son of late Isabelle and Harry Watt, husband of 27 years to Jacquelyn Watt (former husband of the late Shirley Watt, and former husband of Diane Watt); the father of three daughters, Kristen Lopez-Torero and her husband, Antonio, of Princeton, Lori Watt, also of Princeton, and Kelly Lavin of East Brunswick; step-father to Gary Nicholas, Jason Nicholas and his wife, Leah, and Lisa Edgeworth and her husband, Chris, and leaves behind sixteen grandchildren and step-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, August 16, 2019, at 1:00 PM in Chestnut Hill Cemetery, East Brunswick, under the direction of The BRUNSWICK MEMORIAL HOME, 454 Cranbury Road, East Brunswick.

Remembering good times with Bruce at Raritan. Always enjoyed our conversations. Nice guy and a great friend. My condolences go out to the family.
