Edward John Klubenspies, 87, of Avenel, passed away on Wednesday, July 31, 2019, at the VA facility in Paramus, NJ.
Born in Rahway, Ed resided in Avenel for the past 20 years. He attended Linden HS and received his GED while in the Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict. He was a Cranford police officer and detective while on the force, during the '50's and '60's. Ed was an avid fisherman always enjoying a day on the pier in Lawrence Harbor or time spent at the Manasquan inlet with his sister. He also took pride in maintaining his home and cooking for those he loved.
Edward was predeceased by his parents, Marion and John Kulbenspies. Surviving are his brother, Joseph; his two sons, John and his wife, Tania, and Alex and his wife, Carol; sister, Brenda Hagan and her husband, Roland, and their children, Roland Jr., (Stacy-d), Kristin Belger and her husband, Jeff, Therese Makulinski and her husband, Gene, David, Celine Clark and her husband, Peter, Chantal Hagan and her husband, Keith Ritchings, Aimee Cohen and her husband, Ross and his two daughters Marion and Lisa, along with many great nieces and nephews and cousins.
Cremation will be private, under the direction of The Brunswick Memorial Home, East Brunswick with a memorial service planned in the near future.
Mrs. Hagan, I am saddened to hear about the loss of your brother. He lived a good life.
