OLD BRIDGE - DOROTHY "DOT" OSBAHR passed away on Saturday, April 13, 2019, at Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge. She was 82.
Born in Wolfe, WV, a small coal mining town, she resided there until moving to Bayonne, NJ as a newlywed, and then relocating to Old Bridge in 1966 with her husband and young son.
Prior to retiring in 1997, she was a Service Representatives Supervisor at the Social Security Administration, Perth Amboy, for 30 years. After her retirement, she enjoyed working for several years alongside several fellow church members at the office of Dr. Doug Lambertson.
Dorothy was a Member of Sayre Woods Bible Church since 1970 where she was beloved for her spirit, her warmth, and her fellowship. She dedicated herself to the Church, serving as a founding and active member of Greeters Ministry, a coordinator for the Awana Clubs, volunteer for the annual Drive-Thru Christmas Story and for the Pioneer Girls, a coordinator of Ladies Retreats, a member of the Senior Saints, the Women's Bible Study group, and the church choir, and she served for more than 30 years as the Church Clerk.
She was predeceased by her husband of 25 years, Arthur "Art" Osbahr in November 1985 and by her mother, Margaret Hayton in 1973.
Surviving are her son, Robert and his wife, Judi, and three grandchildren, Matthew, Ryan, and Hannah, all of Old Bridge.
A 10:00 am memorial service will be held on Friday, April 19, 2019, at Sayre Woods Bible Church, 2290 U.S. 9, Old Bridge, under the direction of The BRUNSWICK MEMORIAL HOME, 454 Cranbury Road, East Brunswick. Cremation is private.
