EAST BRUNSWICK - CARL ANTHONY PADOVANO passed away suddenly, on Sunday, January 27, 2019, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick, surrounded by his loving family. He was 66 years old.
Born in New Brunswick and raised in Edison, he resided in East Brunswick for 42 years.
He was a graduate of St. Peter's High School in New Brunswick and attended Rutgers University.
Carl was the owner of Tastee Sub Shop, Edison and Tastee Sub Shop, Franklin Park, along with his business partner and life-long friend, David Thornton, who predeceased him in 2016.
An avid sportsman with a love for golf and the Yankees, he also enjoyed his days at the beach and spending time with his six grandchildren, who will forever miss their "Pop".
Carl was predeceased by his parents, Albert and Elaine Padovano, and his brother Tom Padovano.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Nancy Bishop Padovano; three daughters, Adrienne Berg and her husband, James, Lauren Nicolosi and her husband, John, and Amy Bijas and her husband, Jeffrey; three brothers, Alan Padovano and his wife, Mary Anne Pederson, Richard Padovano and his wife, Donna, Daniel Padovano and his wife, Sandra; five sisters, Elena Wiechowski and her husband, Edward, Elise Konsulis and her husband, Charles, Mary Jo Clemente and her husband, John, Anita Bartolone and her husband, Thomas, and Michelle Shapiro and her husband, Donald; sister-in-law Valerie Shanahan, and his six wonderful and dearly loved grandchildren, Ryan and Ava Berg, Mia and CJ Nicolosi and Corrine and Tess Bijas.
A 10:30 AM Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, February 2, 2019, at St. Mary of Mount Virgin R.C. Church, New Brunswick, under the direction of The BRUNSWICK MEMORIAL HOME, East Brunswick. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick.

Carl was a class act as a person and a role model parent. As an excellent baseball player I had the privilege of competing against in baseball in the early 70's. My thoughts and prayers are with Nancy and the entire Padavano family. GOD BLESS Frank Noppenberger
