OLD BRIDGE - ALEXANDER MEZZO died on Wednesday, September 12, 2018, at Roosevelt Care Center, Old Bridge. He was 92.
Born in Gaeta, Italy, he immigrated to America when he was nine years old, residing in Brooklyn, NY, and Miami, FL, before moving to Old Bridge five years ago.
Prior to retiring in 1987, he was a cabinet maker with Custom Craft, Brooklyn, NY, where he worked for 40 years.
He was a U.S. Army veteran, a Rifle man with the Black Hawks in World War II.
Alexander was a big Yankees fan.
He was predeceased by his wife, Mary Mezzo, in 2016.
Surviving are his two sons, Paul Mezzo, and his wife, Rosemarie, of East Brunswick, and Louis Mezzo, and his wife, Marilyn, of Ridgefield; two daughters, Roseann Minieri, and her husband, Carmine, of East Brunswick, and Susan Chipman, and her husband, Robert, of Belford; nine grandchildren, and four great grandchilden.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, September 15, at 8:15 AM, in The BRUNSWICK MEMORIAL HOME, 454 Cranbury Road, East Brunswick, followed by a 9:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial at St. Bartholomew R.C. Church, East Brunswick. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick.

Uncle Al, When I was a little girl I remember you & Aunt Mary sitting on the stoop on Henry & Carroll where we use to live...I was the third party. Don't know if you liked that too much. You were both a perfect match...a perfect couple...so well-liked. Rest in peace together. Love you both, Angie
