NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ - LAWRENCE CHARLES HANAVAN, died on Sunday, February 11, 2018, at Frances E. Parker Memorial Home, New Brunswick. He was 96.
Born in Buffalo, NY, he resided in Mount Laurel, before moving to New Brunswick 3 years ago.
Lawrence was a Civil Engineer for Buffalo Tank, Buffalo, NY where he worked for 40 years.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran of WW II, having served from 1943 to 1946.
He was predeceased by his wife, Mary Jane (Breidenstein) Hanavan, in 1989.
Surviving are two sons, Thomas Hanavan and his wife, Debra, of Oakland, CA, and Timothy Hanavan of Tampa, FL; three daughters, Christine Hanavan and her companion, James Mills, of Orchard Park, NY, Patricia Kenny and her husband, Michael, of Mt. Laurel, NJ, and Marianne Majewski and her husband, Steven, of Rumson, NJ; his sister, Sally Hartmayer of Tonawanda, NY, and five grandchildren, Ryan & Brendan Kenny, Catherine Majewski, Emily Majewski and her husband, Cliff Laney, and Caitlin Hanavan.
A memorial visitation will be held Friday, 12:00 - 1:00 PM, at St. Bartholomew R.C. Church, East Brunswick, where a memorial mass will be held at 1:00 PM with the interment to follow at Holy Cross Burial Park in South Brunswick. Funeral services are entrusted to The BRUNSWICK MEMORIAL HOME, East Brunswick. For directions to the church, please see the "Services" page.
